My goal with this zine was to narrate the story of all my significant experiences in college. To start, I decided I wanted one consistent element in each picture: my face. I chose pictures of myself from different racial backgrounds to represent the diverse aspects of college life and my feelings towards them. Additionally, I covered my eyes with a black rectangle and replaced them with symbols resembling eyes or entirely different objects. This was intended to illustrate my internal emotions. I used stars to depict travel with friends and ski goggles for snowboarding simply because I enjoy wearing them. These experiences ranged from heartbreak and love to moments of pure joy at football games or snowboarding with friends. I also aimed to convey that college isn't solely about fun; it involves struggles as well. Hence, I included pictures symbolizing schoolwork and love. This portrays the balance between enjoying college life and fulfilling academic responsibilities while navigating various relationships and situationships. I hope that as people peruse the zine, they can relate to my experiences and find solace in realizing that they are not alone in their journey.
